Whether you are new to ballroom dancing, ballroom dress rental, or just new to our company, here is the information to help you understand our dress rental process!
Dress Basics
Dresses come in the following styles:
Rhythm & Latin - suitable for all American Rhythm, International Latin, and Night Club dances: Cha-Cha, Rumba, East Coast Swing, Bolero, Mambo, Samba, Paso Doble, Jive, Salsa, Hustle, Night Club two-step, West Coast Swing, Bacahata, Merengue, Polka, Country Western, Peabody, & Argentine tango. Recommended heights are shown (without shoes on) for dresses that are long.
Smooth & Standard - suitable for American Smooth and International Standard dance -Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz, & Quickstep. Smooth dresses can also be worn for Peabody. Standard dresses indicate that the dress comes with floats, which are common in Standard and not worn for Smooth. These dresses also list suggested heights (without shoes on) for each dress.
There is only one of each dress and it will fit a range of sizes as indicated on the dress page. Some dresses have more stretch than others. See our Sizing Guide page for more info on approximate dress sizes.
It is highly recommended to try on a dress (or 3) ASAP and reserve your dress early for your competition. This ensures you have the most choices.
Dresses have a full bodysuit and bra cups unless otherwise indicated. Most Smooth/Standard dresses have snaps in the crotch, while Rhythm/Latin do not.
USADance and BYU competitors: please check with your coach to understand the dress requirements for amateur competition.
Some dresses will come with accessories, such as gloves , floats, or jewelry, as indicated.

Rental Basics
There are 2 types of rentals:
Try On Rental - dress is rented for a 2 day period to allow a dancer to check the fit of the dress prior to committing to an event rental. Dress must be return shipped at the end of 2 days.
Event/Competition Rental - dress rental is 1 to 5 days to allow use at an event, competition, or showcase. Dress must be return shipped at the end of 5 days. Additional days can be added.
All dress calendars are available online so you can check that your dress is available for your event before trying on a dress.
Our online rental system will allow the date of delivery to be specified so you can pick a date convenient for you and your instructor/partner.
Dress does not need to be cleaned before being returned, but should be returned undamaged and on time.
To ensure the best selection of available dresses, It is ideal to try on a dress as soon as you commit to an event.

Pricing Basics
Try On Rental - $25 per dress for 2 days. Max 4 dresses per reservation. More than one reservation can be made at a time.
Event/Competition Rental- rental price varies by dress and is displayed on the dress page, with a rental period being 5 days long. Each additional day after 5 days is $20 per day, per dress, paid in advance. Full payment is due at the time of reservation.
Shipping to you - Try On reservations have free standard shipping to you! $35 shipping for event reservations. Express delivery is available for an additional charge. AK/HI surcharge will apply.
Return shipping - at your expense, return ship the dresses on or before the date specified in the contract. Return instructions are included in the dress shipment. UPS is preferred. Insurance is recommended. No signature is requested.
Late return fees - $50 per day for each dress that is return shipped late. This is strictly enforced. Please return on time to be courteous to other dancers.
Cancellation - There are no refunds/credits for unused rentals. If you cancel prior to your event start date, 50% of the rental fee will be refunded along with any unused shipping charge. Date changes are not permitted for event rentals. No refunds on canceled try on reservations, but date changes are permitted.
If you need a dress within the upcoming 10 days, an express handling fee of $50 will apply, along with any express shipping charges if needed.
Over the phone payment fee of $5 per payment may apply. No fee for online payment.
Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and PayPal are accepted for payment. Debit cards are not accepted.
A late payment fee of $10 applies to an event rental that is not paid on time.
Please read the Rental Contract, as you must agree to the terms of the contract in order to rent a dress. The contract contains all the specifics and you are bound to this agreement. Please ask questions if you do not understand the process.
Colorado sales tax (4.5%) is applied to Colorado residents.
Dress Purchases - most dresses are available for purchase. If there is a Buy This Dress price indicated, the dress can be purchased.
Dress Rental Process Breakdown
Try on a dress or 2 or 3. or 4... find the one that works best! Return ship the dresses to us.
Set up a future event reservation to hold the dress for your event.
The dress arrives in time for your event. Shine on the dance floor!
Return the dress and accessories at the end of the rental.
